Hi, my name is Alexandros. I’m currently a Data Scientist and Project Lead at Rohde & Schwarz. At the Data Intelligence Lab in Alicante, Spain, Machine Learning and Deep Learning methods are applied to Mobile Network Benchmarking and Optimization. In order to provide more value out of Drive Testing, new insights are obtained from the existing data, such as the Call Stability Score. This new lab has been built from scratch as an internally funded start-up within Rohde & Schwarz.
Between 2015 and 2018, I have been a Senior Software Engineer at Google Research Europe in Zurich, Switzerland. Specifically, I was contributing through development and research in the fields of Natural Language Generation and Dialogue, applying my work to products such as the Google Assistant. Among other efforts, I led international projects and collaborations whose results have been successfully launched as different skills and languages in the Assistant. Before that I have performed a PhD Internship at Google in Seattle, WA, under Steve Seitz, working on Computer Vision on Mobile Devices.
Previously, I was a postdoctoral researcher and teaching assistant at the Computer Technology Department of the University of Alicante, Spain, where my research focused on Human Behavior Understanding, Computer Vision and Assisted Living. I staid active in this field, mainly through University Collaborations with my former PhD. Advisor Paco Florez-Revuelta; among others, we have edited a book on Active and Assisted Living.
I hold BSc. and MSc. degrees in Computer Science obtained respectively in 2010 and 2011, and a PhD. degree with the highest distinction (cum laude) obtained in 2014 from the University of Alicante, Spain. During these studies, I have performed several internships in the industry and in academic institutions. In 2013, I was a visiting researcher in the Digital Information Research Centre in Kingston University, UK. In 2010, I was awarded a Microsoft EMEA Internship in the Business Division which was carried out in Redmond, WA. I also received the Valencian Award for Outstanding Graduate of the Year in 2010.
